Urban Gardening Project & My Fall Garden

My sincere apologies for the delay in posting, but you know as soon as you start one project, work and life come at you fast, and you often have to take a breather from something else.

So here we go!

I had no intentions of planting a fall garden. None. I planned on pulling up the sweet potatoes I planted this spring, and hanging back and enjoying the fall and winter, and of course planning my Spring/Summer 2018 garden plots. It was all well and good until I heard about the Urban Gardening Project hosted by the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum. The project is a three part series where you plan, plant, and harvest from the community garden.

I attended class two and intend to attend class three, but after we planted in class two, our instructor shared the excess cold weather veggies with the students. Did you really think I was passing up free kale, cabbages, and collards??

So here are a few photos of my little babies and from the class. Hopefully you can join for the next session.
